Linda Trau is the owner of her own design studio that creates knitwear for Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters.
We are seeking interns who are interested in learning about the fashion industry. The ideal candidates are self-starters, organized, and focused. He/she should be able to work well under pressure and work independently as well as in a group. Fashion experience or education is not required, but an interest in the industry is.
Duties include:
- Assist with the daily operations of a New York design studio. Tasks include answering calls, doing internet research, mailing samples, working the the copy/fax machine, ordering office supplies etc.
- View the design process of clothes, from inspiration and conception to the actual production. Help sort fabrics and vintage products by type, organize the clothing archives, and assist the design team in various ways.
- Help assemble mood and inspiration boards to present to leading executives.
Ideal Qualities:
- Computer literate
- Administrative experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
This is an unpaid internship. We are looking for candidates who can commit for 2-3 days. Internship may be applied towards school credit.
